Here JoeyvegasICS has produced an insightful yet unconventional veriant on the Han Solo character ... unconventional in as far as it reveals or at least attempts to comment on Solo's legendary inner cockiness, his dislike of the order to things and his own take on what is right and wrong. In studying the piece, Solo seems smug, almost thug-like in his representation, yet at the same time there is a nobility about the character. The smug smile, the casual yet alert posture and course the way that Solo stands ready to take whatever his opponants can throw at him ... it is certainly Solo in character, if not in legend.

Off-topic and as far away as I can get from my critic, this is an amazing piece - and for me stands out among the various versions of Solo that I have seen in that the artist DARES to be different and shows us a version of Solo that is not entirely flattering, yet at the same time is more realistic. Certainly this is the Solo of the credit-dreadfuls and holostrips found published (somewhat illegally) right across the galaxy.
